Event title: Café Conversations - Reconsiderations: Fairness vs. Discretion and Second Chances
- Warm introductions around the table, participant’s practice areas and questions they have to be discussed.
- Each practitioner prepares an anonymous case study that involves an unreasonable refusal. Participants take turns analyzing the facts, apply the law, and suggest arguments that can be made.
- Each practitioner will suggest at least one piece of evidence. Practitioners are welcome to bring laptops or tablets and undertake legal research to find case law to support their arguments.
- Looking ahead – what do practitioners need to know to stay ahead of challenges
- Before leaving, each practitioner shares one insight and one question still left unanswered.
CPD approval:
- LSBC 2 hours - 2 CPD hours approved. Attendance to this course will provide you with 30 minutes of ethics and professional responsibility component for your BC Law Society reporting.
